Polish - Indian Chamber of Commerce today... and tomorrow

Aleksander Jóskowiak
Chairman of the Council

     Dear Sirs,

It has been five months since the registration of Polish – Indian Chamber of Commerce in National Court Register. We devoted this time to running errands and organizing the head office of the Chamber at 62, Poznańska Street. We have also taken statutory action consisting in matching partners from Poland and India and cooperating with various economic organizations, administrative boards and self-governments. It is important to highlight our significant achievements – through the mediation of the Chamber we were able to find economic entities for our members. The fact that our Chamber is the only bilateral chamber in Poland assures that some activities designed for public administration might be ceded to the Chamber.

However, the most important matter seems to be the  future of the Chamber. It should be stressed that our top priority is to establish partnership among Polish and Indian entrepreneurs. We will do our best to specify our members’ needs, support and organize their direct contacts with other businessmen from both countries.

In cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Economy, Polish – Indian Chamber of Commerce is going to set up representation network in India which could replace the structures concentrated around commercial counselors’ offices which were liquidated in the previous years. We have already entered into relations with Economic Chambers, embassies and consulates in India and we intend to extend this cooperation.

Furthermore, we are planning to contribute to organizing economic missions to India which will surely enable the members to discover the ambience and conditions in particular economic branches on the Indian market. What is more, we are fully aware of how important it is to have direct contacts with well-known and respected Indian enterprises. We would like to emphasize that we have also initiated a cooperation with Marshall Office. During meetings held with its representatives the issues regarding both promotion of Greater Poland and manufacturers representing this region in India were brought up. The next important undertaking is to develop business cooperation with Indian companies based in Poland. Together with Ministry of Economy and E. Kwiatkowski Association Polish – Indian Chamber of Commerce has been asked to organize Energy Conference in Poznan on November 24, 2009 on the Poznan International Fair.

We intend to take an opportunity and encourage Indian entrepreneurs to consider this issue. A membership in the Chamber will be a chance to enter the attractive Indian market.  Within the framework of the Chamber we are going to establish organizations responsible for Polish – Indian tourism exchange. This project is intended to intensify the turnover of this important branch of business.

One of the further ideas is to take the initiative of organizing the first Polish - Indian Fair on the Poznań International Fair (MTP).
