Biggest bio power plant to be built in Poland |
GDF Suez, the French-based energy company active in the field of renewable energy, is planning to open the biggest biomass energy plant in Poland. The plant, which will be located in the southern town of Polaniec, next to a traditional coal-powered plant, will have a capacity of 190 MW.

Poland praised for anti-swine flu strategy |
The Council of Europe has praised Poland’s Health Minister Ewa Kopacz for her strategy against the swine flu virus. The council’s Committee on Social, Health and Family Affairs said that the Health Ministry’s decision not to order any A/H1N1 vaccines, in spite of pressure from pharmaceutical companies and health organizations, was correct.
